Umm….photos about the taxi. More photos are here.
Actually I am not sure that do I post the right photos today??
Taxis, after I decided to join it on DP forum, I was thinking about how to take the moving objects…:P I took many photos about the taxis in the past 3 days….how about these??

….(Some extra information abou the taxi history in shanghai)…. In Shanghai, the earliest taxi was appeared in 1908 afforded by an America company. But the famous taxi company was called “Xiang sheng Taxi Company” and its servise line number was 40000 which had the meaning refering to the population at that time in China. No interesting stories about taxis here happened to me. Hope the information is useful ~~ Taxis in Shanghai can be seen everywhere: light blue green cars from Da Zhong Taxi ( I guess if you once came here, you knew that of course ); yellow cars from Johnson Taxi ; light green cars from Ba Shi Taxi; and also have some blue cars, red cars, white cars… The price of the taxi in Shanghai is the highest price in the mainland: within 3 kilometers, 11 yuan; between 3 and 10 kilometers, each km costs 2.1 yuan; beyond the 10 kms, each km costs 3 yuan. And after the 11pm and before the 5am, the price is higher. By the way, if you come to shanghai and catch some other color cabs, be careful..! Some “black heart” drivers may cheat you!!

here is the other fellows’ website about the taxis….. :D

Super photos! I love the composition in the second one, especially!
Don’t forget to go to the forum site, go to page 5 there, copy one of the codes for all the other participants in theme day, and paste it into your text for today. That way, your visitors can link to the other Taxi shots around the globe :-) .

Great photo. Panning photos of moving vehicles is a challenge. Check out my September 30th theme day teaser photo which is all about panning.

I have to look for the exchange rate, wait…
oh,here it is: 1 dallor = 7.89 yuan. This price is not expensive for foreigners. But expensive for us local people, for the average salar here is around 2,235 yuan/month in 2005 which is the official statistic of shanghai gov.

    Kim…
thx for reminding me that, I forgot that when I posted the photos…I will add.

Your DP stories are so helpful……….taxi, what an important topic.
I was thinking about how to take the moving objects………what did you decide????
Day time photo’s is easy, night harder, night time with rain, trouble……….but moving objects takes practice, for me anyway.
love your short blogs…….hope today you are feeling rested and have a nice day too, just like the kind of day you bring to all of us.
