Smiling piggy, showing us his wish: Good luck with you every year!

This piggy was found also on the street. It is the deco-piggy which is like the real one most. People painted it in golden too, and can see some old Chinese coins beside. Pig Year for Chinese custom, it must mean fortune!!  ;) Wish you good luck too!! Big photo is here.

Actually in the old time, today people would begin to work. The first 5 days are the days to rest. From today on, lets work and work.

February 22, 2007 - Piggy gallery

This is the Sony gallery just out of the Sony flagship store on Middle Huai hai road. They decorated their shopping windows with cute piggies. I am very interested in these piggies. :P Fluffy toys are my favourite. I want to take them all. But they only sell the Sony, not these piggies.

The fifth day, today people would welcome the the God of Wealth. He would return to the world from the heaven. :p  Who will believe this?? Not me!

The third day of the new year,the old people may believe it is unlucky if go out today. You would meet some evil spirits.  :p  I wont believe this.

Look at these 2 piggies, cute?? I saw this advertisement on the subway, and was attracted at the first sight. ;) hehe, I even forgot what’s this ad for.

The Chinese character in the middle is “豊” in traditional Chinese(in simple Chinese is 丰). It means abundant. It is a custom of farmers to stick this Chinese character on the barn to express their wishes for the crops in the coming year.  Big photo is here.

Today is the second day of the new year. We call it “nian2 chu1 er4″(年初二). Today, it is the day for daughter to go back to visit her family with husband. In the old time, daughters had to stay with her parents-in-law during the big festivals.
