
Taken in Qibao, where can be easily seen this “dismantling” views. People in China seem like to see the newer buildings. I agree to improve the living standards, but why we have to tear down all those nice old houses? We can rebuild them, to save the “history” and “energy sources” as well.

I agree that there should be an effort to preserve/restore some of the old buildings. The Xintiandi area is a great example of what revitalization can do for Shanghai.
I regret the loss of the interesting and unique for a new building that is just the same as can be found in any city any where.
