I miss warm weather….so cold recently in shanghai. So I found this old shot.
People on the street were surrounding to watch some performance….Taken @ Middle Huai Hai road. It was the Shanghai Tourist Festival Season.
Hope your days are warmer…. warmer…brrrrrrrrr………..

Nice street crowd photograph.
Jing,
I was there that night at the Shanghai Tourist Festival!
Yeah, the weather was definitely a lot warmer then~~short pants and short sleeve shirts, day and night.
I miss warm weather too!!! The temperature right now in Boston is -2 degres celsius and colder weather and snow is on it’s way!
How about you? what’s the temperature in Shanghai?
So tell me what was this performance that took place back then?
Dorothee,
The Shanghai Tourist Festival runs every year beginning in mid-September and runs for three weeks in conjunction with the Shanghai Shopping Festival. Both festivals mainly promote Shanghai has a tourist venue and I believe it’s marketed mainly to the domestic Chinese tourism trade.
The scene that Jing has captured above is the parade for the Shanghai Tourist Festival. All manner of floats, bands, and the Chinese Army passed by the spectators. There was the usual flurry of fireworks at the end, of course. It’s not something one would see everyday in Shanghai.
thx a lot ,MR, Rolex…
hehe… and Dorothee..he is right…. he knows shanghai very well i think…an expert !!!! hehe….the fall is the best season in shanghai…..
It’s my pleasure, Jing.
But as wonderful as your photos are, I highly encourage anyone who’s interested in Shanghai to visit the city. Then, one gets to smell, taste, feel the vibes of this wonderful metropolis. The people of Shanghai are also generally very kind, helpful, and interested in foreginers.
