Taken @ Metro Line1. shanghai
A very normal street scene on the platform of the Metro station, but I was interested in the words on that girl’s T-shirt
uxi. The city is seperated by the Huangpu river into 2 parts, and people call them according to its location : west side and east side. So here “xi” means west, and “dong” means east. “Pu” is the way people call the river – not so big or not so small.

Interesting that an apparent Shanghai resident would be wearing a shirt with the design of “I (love) Puxi”. For those not familiar with Shanghai, Pudong would refer to the area of Shanghai east of the Huangpu, sometimes referred to as Pudong New Area (District) as opposed to Puxi, which is the “old”/original part of Shanghai.
To everyone in China: have a nice National Day holiday!
Interest pics there and the story behind it. Thanks for sharing.
