What do those Chinese words mean in this shot?
镶牙, in literally,镶(xīang) means “inlay” and its a verb; 牙(yá) means tooth; in together the phrase means “to put in the false tooth”. So, its a place to fix your teeth. But I am not sure about its condition. In the old times in China, those people who knew how to fix the teeth were not seen as the dentists, they were the craftsman. Nowadays 99% people will go to the hospital to see the dentists, but we still can find this kind of vestiges in our life.

I bet the guy there in that little shop could do the same job…possibly better…than his counterpart at the hospital, and probably for a fraction of the cost!
