Taken @ Qi’xia temple, Nanjing
Another photo from Nanjing in B&W. This is a view in front of the temple, and do you have any ideas what those stuffs are or what for?
Well, if you ever have been to the temple where people go to worship in front of the Buddha, maybe you already get the answer : lighting candles where you could light your incense to make a wish in front of the Buddha. And the incense in the temple is much more longer than those used in the daily life, we call it “gaō xīang” (高香,in literally,高= longer;香 = incense). And why do people do that? I checked online and found that the length of the incense presents your religiosity to the Buddha. Hmm… I never burnt any incense in a temple. But I’d liek to know the Buddhism. Nice day ~

Oh, JIng! First I mis-read and thought it said “Burn you Licence” (Car driver’s licence).
This is important, I thought! China leads the world in common sense!!!!! Then I saw “Incense”….I was pleased that China still has the sprirtual side.
Very unusual shot. Bleeding candles!
