I will go to visit parent tonight and will be back next week, so lots of work to do now…grrrrrrÂ
This is a demolished area and before they start to build the new houese, its empty. When we passed there, we tried to visit some old villa there, but the doorman stopped us and said that it was private place and not permitted to visit. So we had to leave, and nearby it was this empty & dirty place, and some people use it as a temporary parking site. And some kids ( maybe their parents are the migrant workers) were playing there… Wish you have a nice Friday~~
Thanks a lot , Sally ! Congrats for the 3rd bday of your blog ~~~ and I will find time to go for the party!! hehe ~ And thx Mr. Rolex ~ you know China so well, and yeah, you are right, the situation of the migrant workers in China is like what you said, and the government seems wanted to do more for them, like let them have the medical care and let their children have the same chance to study in the public school ~

I took this photo after my lunch one day. It looked bit funny view as I saw those migrant workers lying on the lawn to take the nap. They reminded me that when I was a child, mom forced me to take a nap after lunch. But it was long time ago. To live & work in the city like Shanghai, I seldom hear people who would take time to have a nap after lunch, the nine-to-five life steps fences people’s life. Though the migrant workers are the part of the city already, but they still keep their life style: get up early, take a nap, and sleep before 10pm. Maybe when they left home to work in the cities, they already knew that they are the “migrant” workers. Nice day ~

Last weekend I went to the old shanghai town area to take some photos. With the Shanghai 2010 Expo’s coming, lots of old lower houses were already demolished, and in the still existing rooms there are not many people left. Maybe its the developing progress of the city, but I still feel a little bit sad about the disapearing corners which carried the history of this city. We often say that we cant stop the wheels of the “society”. When we enjoy the modern life, we have to give up the old time.
Hmmm…thats why we all take the cameras to memorize the history with our common eyes. Wish you have a colorful day~~
