OK, ok, I admit that I really like Fuxing park, hehe…
And I do upload another one about Fuxing park. And this is a temporary view in the park. During the Oct. there was a fashion show held in the park, which was charged hundreds if you wanted to watch. Of course I chose outside to watch for free.   And I like outside much more, every week we are stucked in the office for 5 days and why not stay inside again? So, whats your plan for Sunday??
Wish you a nicer time …..

DP shows how much there is to do in Shanghai, and also how to do things for free as well. Don’t always have to spend money to relax and enjoy life. It is good to mention these opportunities found at the parks like Fuxing Park. I like being outside too, I work mostly indoors on a phone at a computer.
My Plans for sunday are to go to Lake Eola in Orlando Florida at the center of our city for maybe three hours is all I can stay. They have small market and crafts some artist with foods shops. I usually see my friends a mixture of mostly vietnamese and then chinese often western people. We practice Qigong there and I usually distribute information about the classes talking to the people coming by . Tourist, locales and anyone interested. It’s a big class started in Nov 1998 ,,so people stop to watch. Many chinese people know the location so they come to take pictures there of the park, the people practicing qigong and also of their friends joining in the morning class.
I saw your photo on flickr of the park. In New York I have seen many older people go out practice and exercise early in the mornings. The film you used for the picture on flickr today is really good when the contrast is more dramatic. The quality of the photo is still very good in normal lighting conditions, what did you find????
I saw your drawings, three of the them posted under your flickr sets ..one was taken at “stir gallery” in the french concessions. I visited the website, nice gallery? Like your picture/drawing……practice practice and practice. You are in sea of creativity DP girl like a sailor navigating through the waters of Shanghai. Your heart and mind is always being renewed to discover the life around you, it’s so good to see and share with us all.
I had frozen dumplings last night. cooked them with a little fresh ginger and soy sauce. Drank soy milk…..would have been so much better to eat them in shanghai DP girl.
I am off monday too, I work alot…everyday, often days and nights till a project is finished…
This has given a quality of life I never had before….as result of this way of work,.. life has become very precious.
nov 7 2006………a good explanation of chinese calendar, I just had to go to th DP library and find the information , Hmmm, here it is
Today is another term in Chinese lunar calendar: 立冬(li4 dong1)(in literally li4 = begin, dong1 = winter). Among the Chinese lunar calendar, there are 24 solar terms in a year. Each season there are 6 solar terms. And Li dong is the first term for winter. It means the winter is beginning. But within a big country as China, the climate is various. Nowadays in the northern part, the temperature dropped to around freezing point; in the southern part, people still wear T-shirts. Only in the middle part of China, the weather basically accords with the 24 Chinese solar terms.
So many wonderful stories to read, thanks DP girl
