This coming year is the Tiger year if you are familiar with the Chinese animal.  We have 12 animals for the Chinese zodiac, which starts from Rats, and ends by Pig; and it also represents the 12 Earthly Branches – 地支(di4 zhi1) which combines with the Heavenly Branches to designate years, months, days and hours in the lunar calendar. So if you check the lunar calendar of 2010, you will find that from 14th of Feb. the 2nd Chinese character which combines with the other word from Heavenly Branches is 寅 (yin2), which means Tiger in Chinese. :P

Huhu, complicated?? hehe…yeah, even from most of Chinese people they dont know this knowledge any more in the “westernized” modern society. But its very interesting if you dig into the traditional culture.

Okay, I will give a break now… :D wish you a cosy & lazy weekend!!
