Seems the Spring is here, but the weather changes so fast, everyday we have to concern what to wear because it would change from 7 degrees to 25. Huh, anyway the cold is getting far away, thats good. Wish you a good weekend.

A very interesting exhibition in Red town, which is a very interesting area to visit – cafes, galleries, gift shops also offices. The exhibition I went is called ” The Future Demands Your Participation” held by the Shanghai International Culture Association & the British Council in MinSheng Art Museum. What I like most about this show is the ideas of choosing the art works from the common people, not only from the professional artists.

Feng Jing （枫泾）belongs to Jin Shan（金山）district of Shanghai. And the farmer painting from that district is very famous. This kind of art appeared in Feng Jing in 1960s. The farmers at that time combined the different traditional art techniques with the modern life attitude which represented the life of the modern Chinese farmers. Now if you go to the town, you could see lots of huge paintings on the outside of walls of many buildings. (The right part in the photo.) And here is some more info.

I took this photo on the past Sunday when it was heavily raining outside. I was there waiting for my friends to come. This little kid with her mom was selling the umbrellas to the passengers. The wind was strong, the rain was heavily; the young mother seemed had no other places to put her baby to look after; the little kid was playing in the cold air with the “toy” – umbrella. Staying behind them watching them, there was something complicated appearing in my heart. Life is tough; life is unfair; the love from Mother is enormous … Wish the mom made some money that day.
