April 21, 2009 - Shoes

Last weekend I went to the old shanghai town area to take some photos. With the Shanghai 2010 Expo’s coming, lots of old lower houses were already demolished, and in the still existing rooms there are not many people left. Maybe its the developing progress of the city, but I still feel a little bit sad about the disapearing corners which carried the history of this city. We often say that we cant stop the wheels of the “society”. When we enjoy the modern life, we have to give up the old time. :) Hmmm…thats why we all take the cameras to memorize the history with our common eyes. Wish you have a colorful day~~

November 15, 2008 - To put in the false tooth……

What do those Chinese words mean in this shot? :P 镶牙, in literally,镶(xīang) means “inlay” and its a verb; 牙(yá) means tooth; in together the phrase means “to put in the false tooth”. So, its a place to fix your teeth.  But I am not sure about its condition.  In the old times in China, those people who knew how to fix the teeth were not seen as the dentists, they were the craftsman. Nowadays 99% people will go to the hospital to see the dentists, but we still can find this kind of vestiges in our life. :) Have a nice weekend ~~~

Yes, its the old street nearby the Yu Garden. As you can see, this area is demolished  already and waiting for the new skyscaper to be built. And the camera gives me the chance to memorize the changes of this city ~ :) Hope you have a bright new week my friends ~
